Concepts

About Concepts

Concepts is a reading companion for introductory psychology. It helps you move from recognizing a term to explaining it, distinguishing its neighbors and spotting where an explanation overreaches.

Scope and selection

The initial selection spans learning, memory and thinking, biological foundations, perception, development, emotion and motivation, personality and social psychology. It is a selected foundation, not a complete glossary or a diagnostic reference. Concepts are linked across topics because real behavior rarely fits one chapter alone.

Working with the textbook

The course reference is OpenStax Psychology 2e. The textbook map records exact sections and distinguishes direct coverage from related context. Supplementary sources are identified in the profiles. Original explanations and scenarios are written for this guide; textbook questions, images and tables are not reproduced.

Examples and practice

Teaching scenarios are constructed examples, not reports about actual participants. Practice questions check a conceptual distinction, not your mental health, intelligence or personality. Responses stay in the current browser page and are not recorded or sent. Comparisons are reading aids, not claims that neighboring processes are mutually exclusive.

Reading and privacy

No account or password is needed. There are no analytics, advertising or runtime third-party requests. Sidebar and text-size preferences are stored locally when browser storage is available. Directory filters appear in the URL and are remembered locally for the return link. Source links and explanations remain readable without JavaScript.
